Jeanette Roos, age 73, of Renville, died Friday, April 13, 2018 at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, surrounded by her family. A gathering and time of sharing will be held Saturday, April 21st from 3-5 p.m. at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Renville. Private family burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at Renville. Arrangements are with Dirks-Blem Funeral Service of Renville.
Jeanette Eileen Roos was born October 31, 1944 in Crooks Township, rural Renville, MN, to Marcel and Esther (Schneiderman) Millerbernd. She grew up in Renville and graduated from Renville High School in 1962. She married Larry Roos on November 5, 1966 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Jeanette was employed at the Renville School as a cook for many years. She owned and operated J&L Crafts for over 25 years. She also did seasonal work in the scale house at the Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Coop. Jeanette enjoyed painting, crafts, sewing, quilting, gardening, bird watching, and camping. Jeanette and Larry especially enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. and wildlife drives along the river bottom. Her family fondly remembers her laugh that was enjoyed by so many.
Jeanette is survived by her husband, Larry Roos of Renville; her two children: Karen (and Mark) Kraus of Chicago, IL, and Michael (and Deb) Roos of Renville; her six grandchildren: Luke Robinson of Osprey, FL, Michael Robinson of Chicago, IL, Thomas Robinson of Zimmerman, MN, MacKenzie Knapper of Chicago, IL, Branden Jahnke of St. Cloud, and Petty Officer Devin Roos of the U.S. Navy forward deployed; her four siblings: Steve Millerbernd, Jim (and Bonnie) Millerbernd, Chris (and Todd) Carlson, and Barb (and Paul) Beck; and her many nieces and nephews. Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents Marcel and Esther and her brother Mike Millerbernd.
