Frank Magnus Johnson was born on April 18, 1958, in Willmar, Minnesota to Harlen and Ethel (Steinhilber) Johnson. He was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Renville. He attended school in Renville and later graduated from Willmar High School. Frank lived on a farm in Renville with his parents and his brother Rob. He later lived in Willmar and Renville with his mother until her passing in 1992. Although Frank was never married and he was a very private person, he had a big heart and was very generous to those who showed him kindness. As a young man, he worked at the Renville sugar beet plant and also had his own candy vending machine route. Later he enjoyed restoring the antique candy machines he used on his route. He loved to go bowling and fishing. Being from a military family, he was very patriotic and loved the 4th of July. He also like to visit and decorate the graves of family members. Frank was known for riding his John Deere Gator around Renville and even made trips to Willmar and Olivia. A man of mystery, Frank was known by few, but loved by many.
Frank is survived by his nephew, Ben (and Salena) Johnson and his great nephew Robert Allen of Castlewood, SD, his niece, Jessica Johnson and great nieces Robyn, Halle, and Harmony of Watertown, SD; his sister-in-law, Lorna Johnson of Castlewood, SD; his aunts: Mary Elaine Goodall of Littleton, CO, and Joan (Vernon) Santjer of Renville; and his uncle, Dennis (Delores) Johnson of Renville. He was preceded in death by his parents, his two sisters and his brother Rob.
