~Darlene Lothert, age 76, of Olivia died Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at her home. Funeral Services are Friday, September 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Danube with Rev. Michael Kuschel officiating. Burial is in the Morton City Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements with Dirks-Blem Funeral Service, Olivia, MN.
Darlene Joyce Lothert was born August 31, 1941 in Morgan, MN to August and Carrie (Timm) Meyer. She grew up in Morgan and graduated from Morgan High School. Darlene married Marlow Lothert on June 5, 1960 in Morton. They made their home in Danube and Olivia and raised nine children. In earlier years Darlene helped Marlow with farming while also being a homemaker. Darlene enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and visiting with friends and relatives. She liked baking, doing crossword puzzles and traveling.
Darlene is survived by her seven children: Mike (and Joyce) Lothert of Lake Lillian, Ray (and Stephanie) Lothert of Quartz Hill, CA, Mitch (and Chris) Lothert of Olivia, Jeff Lothert of Olivia, Darwin (and Natalie) Lothert of Belview, Scott Lothert of Olivia, and Reggie (and Jessie) Lothert of Bird Island; daughter-in-law Karla Lothert of St. James; brother-in-law Don Metag of Olivia; her 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and her four siblings: Ken (and Irene) Meyer of Bloomington, Marcella Schotz of Texas, Dick (and Donna) Meyer of Menahga, and Steve (and Sherry) Meyer of Monticello. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Marlow; her son Jay Lothert and daughter Stacie Dodge; her grandson Justin Lothert and an infant granddaughter and her six siblings: Elaine Siegfried, Don Meyer, John Meyer, Butch Meyer, LaDonna Metag and Helen Witte.
