We knew Jean mostly through Faith United Methodist Church. We came to Olivia in 1960. Jean was always a willing worker in the church. About the time she was turning 65 she asked me if we could not all retire from helping with the projects, etc when we were 65.. I told me that many people were that age and we needed everyone who was able to help out ! I just turned 80 this fall and those of us who knew Jean are still doing our part, as she would have also. Remember, years ago, we were working at a funeral lunch. People who knew her came into the kitchen to say 'hello'. Because she worked with school kids, they had now become adults and she did not recognize some of them so at that present age, I knew them !!!
Jean lived a long life, feel badly that she could not have enjoyed her last years more.
Sorry, cannot be at funeral as I am having cataract surgery that day

Dirks-Blem Funeral Service offers many styles of services to honor the memory of your loved one. Funerals should be meaningful, reflect the individual, and celebrate the life they led. Personalized funerals are more involved, giving people a chance to remember what made that individual so unique.
