~~Joann Keyser, age 67, of Olivia died Sunday, November 19, 2017 at RC Hospital in Olivia. Memorial services will be Friday, November 24, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Bird Island United Methodist Church in Bird Island with Pastor Joseph Carpenter officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred. Arrangements are with Dirks-Blem Funeral Service, Olivia, MN.
Joann Helen Keyser was born July 6, 1950 at Albert Lea, Minnesota to Gaylord and Helen (Schiebel) Heacock. She grew up in the Olivia and Bird Island area and graduated from Olivia High School. Joann married Richard Keyser on April 15, 1979 at the Bird Island United Methodist Church in Bird Island. Jo enjoyed children and had worked as a daycare provider for 7 years. She had volunteered at the food shelf for many years and was a bus aide for Palmer Bus Service. Jo enjoyed camping at Decision Hills, going to movies, dining out, playing bingo and going to various garage sales in the area. She was a faithful member of the Bird Island United Methodist Church.
Joann is survived by her husband Rick Keyser of Olivia; her son Adam Keyser of Granite Falls; her six granddaughters; her two brothers: Jack (and Deb) Heacock of Litchfield and Richard (and Brenda) Heacock of Hector; her brother-in-law Ed Rham of Bird Island and many nieces and nephews. Joann was preceded in death by her parents; her three sisters: Sharon Landreth, Gayle Marie Heacock and Betty Rham and her brother Gaylord Harrison Heacock.
