Gary Clouse, age 55, of Olivia died at his home under the care of hospice on Friday, December 28, 2018. Mass of Christian Burial is Saturday, January 5th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia with Rev. Joe Steinbeisser as celebrant. Visitation for Gary is Friday from 5:00-6:30 p.m. at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia and continues Saturday at the church for one hour prior to the mass. Burial will be in the Spring in the church cemetery.
Gary Lee Clouse was born December 2, 1963 in Olivia, MN, to Robert and Elaine (Toupal) Clouse. Gary grew up in Olivia and graduated from Olivia High School where he had participated in baseball, football, and wrestling. When he was a Junior in high school he enlisted in the Army Reserves for a four year period. After high school he furthered his education at Willmar Vo-Tech where he studied Ag Business. Gary’s employment included Blackburn Industries, Jim Marks Construction, Best Manufacturing, Schult Mobile Homes, and these last years with Jim Brooks Construction. Gary loved the outdoors, especially being up north deer hunting and shooting his muzzle loader. He also enjoyed fishing, cutting wood, shooting pool, and using his welding skills. His love for nature was evident in being a big supporter of Pheasants Forever. Gary was a selfless man in many quiet ways. He will also be remembered for his love for his nieces and nephews as well as all children….and they loved him back!
Gary is survived by his mother Elaine Clouse of Olivia; his siblings: Mike Clouse of Olivia, Tom Clouse of Redwood Falls, Doug (and Leanne) Clouse of Cottage Grove, Laurie (and Casey) McLaughlin of Waterloo, Iowa, Greg (and Joan) Clouse of Olivia, and Tracy (and Mike) Wedl of Minneapolis; and his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his father Robert Clouse and his brother Teddy Clouse.
