Robert Joseph Marks was born February 7, 1960 in Olivia, Minnesota to Donald and Shirley (Smith) Marks. Bob attended and graduated from Bird Island Lake Lillian High School in 1978. He worked for Lakeland Bean in Olivia and then worked over the road as a contractor building grain elevators. After that Bob became self-employed at his own company, RJM Construction, until he eventually retired. Bob had an immeasurable love for his family. He went above and beyond for them without expecting anything in return. He enjoyed keeping busy with many projects especially building toys for his grandchildren, including: a lemonade stand, man cave, pool, and had plans to potentially make a zip line. He was the designated pie maker for his family’s Thanksgiving gatherings with his specialty being pumpkin and pecan. Bob will be fondly remembered for his independent spirit, unselfish personality, and heart of gold.
Bob is survived by his children: Cory Marks (Joe Barmettler), Nathan Sing (Katie Hamilton), and Nick Sing; nine grandchildren: Breeynn, Wyatt, Harley, Zander, Caleb, Zoe, Kyndra, Xara, and Berklee Lou; siblings: Daniel (Sharon) Marks, Theresa Lankenau, Tom (Connie) Marks, and Sharon (Jim) Mohs; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Marks; and sister-in-law, Marcia Marks.
Blessed Be His Memory
