Betty was born on January 2, 1932 to William and Marie (Miller) Condon on the family farm near Forest City, MN.  She loved adventures, both near and far.  She went to dances in Minnesota, where she met Harold.  When Harold was stationed in California, one of her adventures brought her to Paso Robles, California, where she and Harold were married at Mission of San Miguel on July 4, 1952.  Her travels were centered around those things that were important to her; faith, family, and farming.  She went to Iowa to see Pope John Paul II; Maine, Massachusetts, and Guatemala to see family; Florida and Prince Edward Island for family vacations.  Her adventures always brought her back home to the farm for family and gardening. At home, she traveled around the area evaluating the crops in the summer and surveying the apple trees in the fall.

Betty was a hard working farmwoman.  She and her husband, Harold, milked cows and grew various crops.  She shared her love of “picking pickles” for Gedney with her children, grandchildren, and some nieces/nephews over the course of 24 hot summers.

In later years, after retiring from dairy farming, she cared for her brother, Howard, and worked at Perkins as the “best pie seller.”  More recently, Betty spent her time with her family on the farm, playing games and enjoying visits from family.  She appreciated the care her children provided her as this allowed her to stay on the farm she loved, close to her flowers, birds, and garden.

Betty was raised in the Catholic faith, loved God, and she held on tightly to her faith until the end. She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bird Island where she was involved as a Eucharistic Minister and in the CCW. Her faith also extended into being active in Right To Life outreach.

Betty is survived by her ten children: Jeanne (Richard) Stewart, Robert (Debbie) Maresch, Ann (Allan) Solseth, Kevin Maresch, Marlin (Sue Ann) Maresch, Martin (Stephanie) Maresch, Susan (Frank) Pieper, Ellie (Sal) Dellessio, Jennifer (Mike) Conley, Andrew (Sarah) Maresch; her sister Patricia (John) Bastian; her brother Michael Condon; sister-in-law Virginia Condon; her 27 grandchildren; her 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harold; four infant sons; siblings: Cathy (Ray) Ewald, Howard (Myrtle) Condon, Tom Condon, La Nora (Alvin) Schlueter, Ardella O’Fallon, and Patrick Condon.  Blessed be her memory.
