Doris Marie Huebsch was born May 11, 1924 in Wahpeton, North Dakota to Frank and Hilda (Christianson) Brunner. She graduated from Goodridge High School as valedictorian of her class. Before graduation Doris worked for her aunt Sina as a switchboard operator for the local telephone company. She then moved to St. Paul and worked for Northwest Airlines as an electrician during WWII converting passenger airplanes into military bombing planes. Doris married Jerome Huebsch on February 19, 1949 in Raymond and they were blessed with five children. She took great pride in the family farm and worked right alongside Jerome in maintaining it. Doris enjoyed vegetable gardening, flower gardening, puzzles, reading, cooking, baking, sewing, playing cards and spending time with her family. She will be remembered for making sure everyone had enough to eat, her homemade donuts and her barbecues. Doris was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and Altar Society in earlier years and recently was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bird Island.
Doris is survived by her five children: Mary (and Neil) Hogendorn of Sauk Rapids, Linda (and Rich) Habedank of Eden Prairie, Jo Huebsch of Lake Lillian, Steve Huebsch of Mora and Frank Huebsch of Lake Lillian; her three grandchildren: Jason (and Leah) Hogendorn of Sartell, Joel (and Lynn) Hogendorn of St. Michael and Jaden Huebsch of Lake Lillian; her three great-grandchildren: Bentley, Everly and Nora; brother Don (and Mary) Brunner of Fridley; sister-in-law Edna Athmann Rudeen of Bird Island and her special neighbor Pearl Wallenta of Lake Lillian.
