Chester Lindberg, age 83, of Olivia, MN and originally from Battle Lake, MN, died Sunday, November 4, 2018 at the RC Hospital in Olivia. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Dirks-Blem Funeral Service, Olivia, MN.
Chester Burnette Lindberg was born September 25, 1935 at Battle Lake, MN, to Joe and Josie (Hultberg) Lindberg. He was baptized and confirmed in the First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake and graduated from Battle Lake High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked in Spokane, Washington doing mission work within the Army. He worked at the State Hospital in Fergus Falls for many years. He then worked for the Salvation Army for selfless contribution to the community through Operation We Care. Chester enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and attending the County Fair. He has resided at the Olivia Nursing Home these past 10 years.
Chester is survived by his two sisters: Mildred Tyberg of Elbow Lake, MN and Carol Bolton of Des Moines, IA; and many nieces and nephews. Chester was preceded in death by his parents and his five siblings: Arlene Swanson, Joan Muchow, Palmer “Sonny” Lindberg, Neal Lindberg and Donnis Fick.
