Cody Lee Sunvold, age 15, of Renville, died Friday, November 30, 2018, at his home in Renville. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2018, at First Lutheran Church in Renville. The Rev. Harvey Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Renville. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-7 p.m. and will continue on Friday one hour prior to the services all at the church in Renville. Arrangements are with Dirks-Blem Funeral Service, Renville, MN.
Cody Lee Sunvold was born on May 27, 2003, in Olivia, Minnesota to Scott and Lisa (Tesch) Sunvold. He grew up in Renville and has attended school at Renville County West and Belview Public Schools. Cody enjoyed athletics, playing baseball, hockey, and lifting weights. He also loved the outdoors where he enjoyed ice fishing with his father, hunting and four wheeling, and doing the chicken chores at his grandfather’s farm. He also loved hanging out with his friends, playing with his little sister, and spending time with Chelsea and Ryan. Cody liked helping others whether it be shoveling snow, chopping wood, or helping with the yardwork. He was always willing to lend a hand.
Survivors include his father and step mother, Scott and Angie Sunvold of Renville; his siblings: Chelsea and Ryan Ahl, Samantha Trebesch, and Caleb Jensen; his maternal grandparents, Donald and Shirley Tesch of Eden Prairie, and his paternal grandparents, Jerry and Sharon Sunvold of Renville; his step sisters and brothers: Danielle, Stephanie, Sophia, Javier, and Dion; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Lisa, and his grandmother Bernice.
