Katherine C. Schroeer, age 85, of Renville, died Friday, February 8, 2019, at the RenVilla Nursing Home in Renville. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Renville. The Rev. Rick Tuttle will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Renville. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church in Renville. Arrangements with Dirks-Blem Funeral Service, Renville, MN.
Katherine C. Schroeer was born on April 25, 1933, in Renville Minnesota to John F. and Margaret (Beek) Meyer. She grew up in Renville and graduated from Renville High school in 1951. She went on and continued her education at the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis. Katherine returned to Renville and worked at Lobnitz John Deere Implement. She was united in marriage to Norbert Schroeer on December 14, 1957, at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church north of Renville. Katherine and Norbert lived on the Schroeer family farm south of Renville and together they ran their dairy and grain operation. Katherine was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and she enjoyed her life on the farm and her flower gardens.
Katherine is survived by her friends: Jim and Pam Peterson of Renville, and Wally and Sharon Van Eps of Willmar; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Norbert.
