Rex was born June 14, 1932 in Ridgeway, Missouri to Wayne and Opal (Cummings) Dailey. The family moved to Minnesota in the late 1930’s. In his twenties, he started going to work with his dad where he was taught to be a mechanic. He worked as a mechanic at Cenex station until he retired at the age of 71. Rex loved life and people. Despite his disabilities, he found his own way to communicate and interact with those around him. He was quite the character, who always tried to make those around him laugh. Rex learned to bowl and bowled on different leagues for over 30 years, earning many trophies. He also enjoyed fishing and golfing. Spending time with his two brothers was a very important part of his life. Rex will be remembered for the unique and one of a kind person that he was.
Rex is survived by his two brothers, Everett and Keith; sister, Sheri “Sharon” and brother-in-law, Rich; nephew, Chad and his family Addie, Isaiah, & Joshua; and niece, Julie and her family Sam & Sydney. Rex was preceded in death by his parents, and three infant nephews.
Dirks-Blem Funeral Service offers many styles of services to honor the memory of your loved one. Funerals should be meaningful, reflect the individual, and celebrate the life they led. Personalized funerals are more involved, giving people a chance to remember what made that individual so unique.
