Larry H. Bomstad, age 81, of Lake Lillian died Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at Woodstone Senior Living in Hutchinson. Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with K-M Funeral Home in Lake Lillian, MN.
Larry was born October 4, 1938 at Lake Lillian, MN, to Ambrose and Kendrietta (Wicklund) Bomstad. He grew up at and attended school in Lake Lillian. Larry married Barbara Flann on June 27, 1958 at First Lutheran Church in Lake Lillian. They made their home in Lake Lillian and were blessed with four children. For many years Larry was an independent grain dealer. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, and snowmobiling. He also enjoyed watching wildlife around the farm and gathering with family and friends.
Larry is survived by his wife, Barbara of Lake Lillian; children: Blaine Bomstad (and significant other Stacey Arth) of Lake Lillian, Bruce (and Christine) Bomstad of Hutchinson, and Lisa Guetter ( and significant other Gene Kaping) of Texas; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and siblings: Lucille Mahlow, Karen (and Gordy) Houdek, Nadine (and Larry) Degner, Brenda (and Virgil) Zins, and Valerie Bennett. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; son, Brent Bomstad; grandson, Alvern Bomstad; sister, Lorraine Wieker; and brother, Alvern “Bud” Bomstad.
