Suzanne Randine Adele Griffith, age 67, of Walnut Grove, died Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at her home in Walnut Grove. A private family burial service will be Friday at Hawk Creek Lutheran Cemetery near Sacred Heart. The Rev. Dan Bowman will officiate. Arrangements are with Dirks-Blem Funeral Service, Renville, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Hawk Creek Lutheran Church Music Fund.
Suzanne Randine Adele Griffith was born on February 21, 1953, in Granite Falls, Minnesota to Harry and Corella (Oie) Hamre. She grew up on the family farm near Sacred Heart and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1971. Suzanne continued her education at the University of Minnesota, Morris where she studied music. She was united in marriage to Tim Griffith on September 14, 1974, at Hawk Creek Lutheran Church near Sacred Heart. Suzanne and Tim lived in Oregon and Washington for 10 years prior to moving to Walnut Grove, Minnesota. Together they owned and operated Griffith Grocery Stores in Walnut Grove and Lamberton. Suzanne loved music and was a talented musician, playing the piano and trumpet for many groups, choirs, and other musical events in southern Minnesota. She also enjoyed golfing, Kayaking, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband Timothy, her sisters and brothers: Marilyn McMahon of Shakopee, Marianne (and Ron) Wright of Shakopee, Paul (and Carla) Hamre of Sacred Heart, and David (and Andrea) Hamre of Sacred Heart; Many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Gary and her sister-in-law Cheryl Hamre.
