Elmina L. Lamb, age 88, of Buffalo Lake, Minnesota, passed away on June 20, 2020, at Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center. Private family graveside service was held. A memorial service will take place at a later date to be determined as travel and gathering restrictions continue to be lifted. Arrangements with Dirks-Blem Funeral Service of Olivia.
Elmina Louise Lamb was born July 6, 1931, in Canby, Minnesota, the daughter of Goodwin and Emily (Whitson) Knutson. She was baptized October 11, 1931 in the Presbyterian Church in Canby. Elmina grew up in rural Granite Falls. She graduated with the Class of 1949 from the Granite Falls High School. Upon graduation, Elmina studied for three years at the Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis, graduating as a Registered Nurse. She worked at the Granite Falls hospital until she met Alex.After marriage, Elmina worked at times at the nursing home in Cosmos while also raising her family.
On September 11, 1955, Elmina was united in marriage to Alex Lamb in Granite Falls, Minnesota at the First Baptist Church. Their wedding was officiated by her uncle George Knutson. Elmina and Alex made their home in the Hector area. Six children blessed their union, Michael, LaNita, Brian, Patricia, Susan, and Curtis.
Elmina and Alex raised their children attending Evangelical United Brethren (EUB) / Osceola Methodist Church until it closed, subsequently becoming members of the United Methodist Church in Hector.
Elmina and Alex loved to travel to such places as Hawaii, Texas, California, Washington state, North Carolina, spending time with family at their cabin on Green Lake, and wintered in Arizona for 19 years. She enjoyed gardening, canning her produce, cooking, spending time with her friends,and loved her family.
Elmina is survived by her children: Michael Lamb and his wife Shar of Hutchinson, MN, LaNita Harris and her husband Rick of North Carolina, Brian Lamb and his wife Karyn of Hector, MN, Susan Holmgren and her husband Brad ofWashington, Patricia Snowden of California, and Curtis Lamb of Hector, MN; Nine Grandchildren; Seven Great Grandchildren; Sister: Maryan Froland of Granite Falls, MN; Brothers-in-law:Wesley Lamb and his wife Jackie of Illinois and Gerald Baker of Granite Falls, MN; and Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends. Elmina was preceded in death by her husband, Alex; parents, Goodwin and Emily Knutson; brother, Richard Knutson; sister, Betty Baker of Granite Falls, MN; brother in-law, Ronald Froland of Granite Falls, MN; sister in-law and brother in-law, Lenore and Merton Denelsbeck of Canby, MN and brother in-law, Loren Lamb of Florida.
