Ina Kaiser, age 81, of Lake Lillian, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 7, 2020 after a long, courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Funeral services will be Monday, December 14 at 2 p.m. at United Lutheran Church in Lake Lillian with Rev. Matt Hausken as officiant. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 13 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the church and continue for one hour prior to the service on Monday. Due to health department concerns, strict Covid guidelines will be followed at the church and masks are required. Arrangements are with K-M Funeral Home of Lake Lillian.
Ina Janet Kaiser was born on October 15, 1939 to Emanuel and Anna (Halls) Bengtson on the family farm in Hayes Township, Swift County. She received her education at the local country school which was two miles from her home. Ina was confirmed at the Kerkhoven Lutheran Church. On August 4, 1960, Ina was united in marriage to Harold Kaiser. Their marriage was blessed with six children. Ina was a dedicated home maker; she worked hard to make sure that everyone was fed and the chores were all done at the end of the day. Ina also worked outside the home for Willmar Poultry Company for many years until retiring in 2004. Ina had such a passion for gardening that not even her hatred of snakes could keep her from being in the garden every day. She enjoyed sewing, playing cards and dice. Ina had an immense love for her family, and cherished time spent with her grandchildren. She was a great cook and always served up plentiful feasts. Giving the best compliments and advice was just some of the many traits she was known for. She will be remembered for her kindness, soft spoken nature, and being a loving caregiver. Ina had a heart of gold and was an angel that has now gained her wings.
Ina is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Harold of Lake Lillian; her children: Steve (and Marilou) Coulston of Lake Lillian, Nanette (and Reuben) Peterson of Willmar, Rick (and Patti) Kaiser of Atwater, Doreen (and Kevin) Kopel of Lake Lillian, Scott (and Johanna) Kaiser of Ephrata, WA, Tami (and Jared) Flann of Lake Lillian; her grandchildren: Tyrel, Ben, Jamie, Teresa, Melissa, Andrea, Audrey, Jared, Dayna, Jordan, Rachel, Heather, Kristina, Madison, John, Morgan, Blake, and Ema; 37 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her siblings: Adeline Kotzenmacher of Willmar, Rosella Fischer of Lake Lillian, Marlys (and Reinhold) Kaiser of Lake Lillian, Donnie (and Sandy) Bengtson of Pennock, and brother-in-law, Tom Hopman of Redwood Falls; and many nieces and nephews. Ina was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Elwood & Marvin Bengtson, and sister, Joyce Hopman.
