Alan Kaiser, age 73, of Danube, MN, died Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center. A private family funeral will be held with Rev. Michael Kuschel officiating. Burial will be in St. Matthew’s South Cemetery at Danube. A public memorial service will be held at Alan’s church when it is safe to do so. Arrangements are with Dirks-Blem Funeral Service of Olivia.
Alan George Kaiser was born March 20, 1947 at Montevideo, MN, to Ellsworth “Shorty” and Alice (Boehlert) Kaiser. He grew up in Danube and graduated from Danube High School in 1965. Alan served in the Air National Guard. Alan was employed as a dragline operator and driver at Danube Washed Sand, Gravel, and Ready Mix for many years. In later years he was employed in maintenance at Golden Oval in Renville. Alan was a lifelong active member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Danube where he had served on the Council, as Treasurer, and on the Cemetery Board. His love for the outdoors extended to being a member of Ducks Unlimited and Neogahbow Hunting Lodge. Alan enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, golfing, and bowling. He especially enjoyed feeding and watching birds and had an extensive collection of bird carvings. He will be remembered for his kindness, love for family, sense of humor, as well as being a “good guy” and neighbor, and most definitely the favorite uncle.
Alan is survived by his siblings: Barbara (Dick) Gunderson, Gary (Diane) Kaiser, and Nancy (Jim) Klecker; his nephews and nieces: Gary Kaiser, Jr., Lance Kaiser, Stacy Shaleen, Michele Chapman, Shannon Rye, and Shaun Gunderson; and 18 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: George and Bertha Kaiser and Fred and Olga Boehlert; and his parents Ellsworth and Alice Kaiser.
