Earl Arvid Youngkrantz was born on November 23, 1929 to Carl and Ida (Walsh) Youngkrantz in St. Cloud, MN. He began his life-long farming career at a young age when he started helping on his parent’s farm. Earl graduated from Olivia High School in 1947. He was united in marriage to Buela Knoll on December 27, 1950 at First Lutheran Church in Lake Lillian and they were blessed with six children. They made their home on their farm near Lake Lillian. Together they enjoyed many years of traveling across the United States. They were both long-term members of First Lutheran Church in Lake Lillian which is now United Lutheran. Earl volunteered his time serving on the church council and on the school board for the Bird Island-Lake Lillian School. When he wasn’t farming he enjoyed being outdoors, and in his younger years he liked deer hunting and fishing. He was very interested in his family’s history and had recently completed a book of his genealogy. Family was very important to him; he spent time visiting his relatives and forming strong relationships with them. Earl was hard working and always willing to lend a helping hand to everyone. Earl will be remembered for his dedication to his family, faith, and farming.
Earl is survived by his six children: Bev (and Mike) Ryan of Lake Lillian, Dean (and Jane) Youngkrantz of Lake Lillian, Gary (and Jody) Youngkrantz of Lake Lillian, Glenn (and Patsy) Youngkrantz of Lake Lillian, Allen Youngkrantz of Lake Lillian, and Joyce (and Kenten) Damhof of Blomkest; his 16 grandchildren; his 27 great-grandchildren; his 6 great-great-grandchildren; his siblings: Loretta Flann, Shirley (and Martin) Knoll, Galen (and Pat) Youngkrantz, and Raymond (and Ruth) Youngkrantz.
